ill nee to talk to andy about that mocap problem i had in mbuilder. assigning markers was jacking it up. and hopefully eric and i can agree to a set schedule for the cave. modeling for characters need to be done by the end of december.

Today, i also had a rehearsal with Andres/Ronen/Keith in the early afternoon, and a consultation rehearsal with Paul about his character and movements. the next rehersal is on friday with Andres and Jason. ill have to set one up for Maranon and possibly Eddy soon. I'm hoping to get Paul (and myslef) in the Cave NEXT TUESDAY the 24th (fingers crossed). im trying to organize it with steffen and eric.

MOCAP Session 1 - complete!!!!!

Today, i waent to the 3D CAVE and steffen and i crammed out a great first mocap session.
i put on the space duds and white markers and we mocaped some simple animations.
we first ran a calibration test and set up the skeleton. Then i did 2 walk cycles, 2 begging cycles, an attempted murder, in which the data is clean and im ready to throw it into motion builder 2009, some pleading and asking motions, and all the main characters motions for Act 1.

jury says - good day.

oh, and im at a B+, not that grades matter, but its time to ORGANIZE!!!!

Scheduling


In the midsts of scheduling time in the Cave, but first i need another rehearsal. the female character is done, but im having some rendering problems with her geometry, it wont render. im no noob, so i think its an issue embedded in her geometry data.
i tried putting her in modo and importing exporting all kinds of formats from different packages, nothing worked. my fail-safe will be now to put her in Zbrush2 and export her mesh from their into maya and see if the rendering works then. i have Z3, but ill need a new laptop to run it on. my G4 is a piece of shit with no intel. either way, hopefully exporting her out of Z2 works. if not, im going to hate my life.

Story board n Cave

So today, i met with Eric who explained to me how we would run the MOCAP cave operation. i sent the gist of it to
the profs. But letting the cat out of the bag, we're going to lob for the video studio for several technical reasons for the MOCAP. test animations are to start in Nov. and big time studio capturing for january.

on another note, ive been working on the IP presentation and finishing the storyboard, highlighting which elements would be shot specifically for a 3D effect for popping off the screen and into the faces of the viewer. Eric also informed me
on creating depthmaps for rendering the blur effect in 3D space. white = clear, black = out of focus. We also spoke about how to animate the 3D cameras to create uneasiness when an evil character is on screen with sublte movements without causing headaches to the viewers.

may have to look into mats if mocap actors are being thrown with foam dots. not really a problem at ALL.
ill talk more with eric about the depth maps soon.

its 3:30, time to gooooooooo.

Tuesday Zen!



Tuesday, I spent the day finishing the modeling of the third main character. A materialist monk, enlightened only to the ways of self preservation and consumption. 3 hours in the studie proved to be useful in making him a workable character.
